Date Of Birth .
Biography Kentucky native Keith Robinson spent his childhood growing up in Augusta, and later in Atlanta, Georgia. He eventually studied at the University of Georgia; during his time there, he signed a recording contract with Motown Records, although the label never issued any of his material.
Robinson then moved to Los Angeles, considering an acting career. He took his first regular role in the children’s series Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue, where he played Joel Rawlings, the initially hesitant Lightspeed Ranger known for his acrobatic stunts in the air and his comic quips. His next regular role came in 2003, when he joined the cast of the drama American Dreams. He played a relatively minor role, that of Nathan Walker, the outspoken nephew of Henry Walker (Jonathan Adams) who spent time in jail. During the time, he also appeared in several films, including Fat Albert and Mimic: Sentinel.
Robinson then joined the cast of Over There, a war series which held the distinction for being the first such series to tackle an ongoing military effort (in this case, the war in Iraq). He played Avery King, a singer who angrily enlisted after not getting a slot in a competitive choir, and later begins to regret the move. Declining ratings led to the program being cancelled after its initial 13-week run. The following year, he appeared in the acclaimed musical film Dreamgirls, where he played C.C. White, a songwriter and the soft-spoken brother of Effie (Jennifer Hudson).
His most recent television role was in the legal drama Canterbury’s Law. It premiered in 2008 as a midseason replacement, and starred Julianna Margulies as a beleaguered lawyer dealing with her son’s disappearance. His role as one of her coworkers—Chester Fields, a congressman’s son who sought to distance himself from the family—didn’t last long, as the series was cancelled after six episodes.
