Kayla Marie King (Born May 25, 1988 in Franklin, Tennessee) is an American country music & Christian singer. She is most known for her 2006 single “Good Place To Turn Around” which has been played on many Christian radio stations across the nation.[1] Country/Christan group Point of Grace covered the song on their 2010 album "No Changin' Us
Early life
Kayla King was born to Michael and Sarah Beth King on May 25, 1988. Growing up in Franklin, Tennessee, King showed vocal talent at an early age and began voice lessons at age 8. By 13, Kayla began to make a name for herself, singing the national anthems at local and national games. She holds the record for the youngest singer to ever perform the national anthem for Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Braves games
Career
King began her recording career with help from her uncle, entertainment lawyer David Hill. Hill set up numerous showcases around the Los Angeles, New York and Nashville areas. She was offered her first recording contract in 2005 with pop music label Casablanca Records . Even though a full album was recorded over the year, it remains unreleased due to Casablanca going bankrupt.[4]
In the spring of 2007, King was signed another contract with EMI’s Firm Music. After unsuccessful outcomes, Kayla then switched to EMI’s other label, Capitol Nashville to pursue country music.
Kayla’s album Wildfire remains unreleased, although the singles Sorry and Wildfire received a significant amount of airplay.[5]
Kayla's yet untitled major label debut album will be released through Warner Music.
