Perry Doesn’t Hold a Grudge against Exes
If there were people that actually believed that Katy Perry “points the finger” at her exes in her songs, they were wrong!
The 29-year-old is currently promoting her latest album, Prism. Although the diva admits that the songwriting process can be emotionally wrenching, she confessed that she doesn’t bash exes in her tracks.
“I think that I'm not always trying to point the finger. I think on this record, the whole Prism record, it's very self-reflective and you hear that I’ve kind of gone inside more so and looked at where I can make myself better, did a patchwork thing, rather than like ‘Screw you. You’re crazy. F**k you,’”she told MTV First.
Apparently the “Firework” singer has plenty of experience on the topic of ending relationships. She divorced Russell Brand in 2012 after a short marriage following a whirlwind courtship, and is currently dating John Mayer. Nevertheless, Katy doesn’t bear any grudges against her exes. The singer thinks it’s important to be mature about ending a romance, and believes that shows in the lyrics to another song, called “It Takes Two.”
