The gospel industry is buzzing about America’s newest gospel Superstar Johnny Sanders and his debut CD “Lifetime”, which has quickly become the talk of the country. His hit single “I Trust God” has become an anthem for the church and is currently in rotation on more than 1,000 radio stations worldwide! Johnny (Lifetime) was on the 2005 Stellar Awards nominations ballot in three categories and on the 2005 Grammy Award nominations ballot in four categories. He has been featured on national and international syndicated gospel magazine, T.V. and radio shows; Inspirations Across America; on Gospelcity.com; BrotherSteve.com; BlackGospelPromo, in Gospel USA Magazine and Gospel Music Round-up, just to name a few. Currently Johnny’s second single “Because of You” is on Billboard’s Top 40 Gospel Chart and on the R&R Charts, which tracks the number of times the song is played and the number of units (CDs) purchased nationally. Johnny was also a featured performer at Bishop T.D Jakes First Annual MegaFest.
Johnny Sanders is a young man filled with excitement and energy, which surface when he is electrifying audiences with his powerful, melodic voice. Not just an exceptional singer, Johnny holds an A.A. Degree in Mass Communications and Journalism from Miami Dade College and a B.A. Degree in Humanities & Public Relations/Communications from Florida International University. In addition, he has worked in the field of entertainment programming, marketing and advertising for more than 15 years.
Johnny has toured nationally, as well as internationally, performing in Italy, France, Africa and the Caribbean. He has also graced the stage with Isaac Hayes, Spike Lee, Dorothy Norwood, Andre Crouch, Shancie, Mikki Howard, Betty Wright, Howard Hewitt, Regina Bell, Vickie Winans, Ann Nesby and Freddie Jackson, just to name a few. Johnny has appeared nationally on TBN’s Praise the Lord program, Bobby Jones Gospel, The Word Network, “Singsation:, The Gospel of Music with Jeff Majors, a cable TV special entitled, “We Remember Jesus,’ Bernadine Bush’s “You Haven’t Heard Me Till Now,” and his own productions “Truly Christmas” and “Talent Fit For A King”. He has toured nationally with Michael Matthew’s hit gospel stage plays, “Secret Lovers”, “Sugar Daddy”, “Listen To Your Woman,” and “Money Can’t Buy You Love,” performing along side the likes of Johnny Gill, Melba Moore, Ralph Tresvant, Miguel Nunez and Harthorn James a.k.a. “Big Red”, in addition to being featured vocalist on the shows’ sound tracks. Johnny co-starred in Malik Yoba’s Hit Gospel Stage Play “What’s On The Hearts of Men” Summer 2005 and is slated to tour nationally with the production later this year.
Having an eye and ear for talent, Johnny has served as the South Florida Audition Coordinator for Michael Matthew’s stage plays; Talent Show Assistant Coordinator for Miami-Dade’s County’s Employee Showcase, sits on the Executive Board of the Diaspora Arts Coalition, in addition to belong to various organizations including: the Florida Gospel Announcer Guild and Gospel Music Workshop of America (Miami Chapter). He has also recorded with the African American Unity Choir, “LIVE in Treno, Italy”, Living Waters, and Min. Eddie Robinson and the Voices of South Florida.
