Jo Davidson

Jo Davidson's music is like a quilt discovered one piece at a time. On the surface, her music explodes with charm and sex appeal. Brewing underneath are feelings of loss, hope, anger and questioning. Her honest lyrics and melodic hooks create an introspective blend of pop/rock reminiscent of Tori Amos, Alanis Morrisette and Fiona Apple. She wrote all 11 tracks on her recent CD release FRAGILE TOUGH GIRL. She also played piano, keyboard, most guitar tracks, all vocals, and co-produced FRAGILE TOUGH GIRL with Greg Ladanyi (Fleetwood Mac, Jackson Browne, Don Henley). Together they recorded each song at Jo's studio in Los Angeles, CA with the help of gear endorsements from Panasonic and TC Electronics.

Recently, Jo moved to New York City where she is living and performing in venues such as The Bitter End, CBs 313 Gallery, and The Living Room. Jo has had her songs placed in Film and TV such as "Tom and Jerry The Movie, Brimstone, Blossom, and Friends 'Til The End" which has been airing on VH1 after it's initial run on NBC. Her songs have been recorded by artists like Stephanie Mills, Melissa Manchester and Meat Loaf. She toured with Susanna Hoffs (formerly of the Bangles) as a keyboard player and backup singer, and Jo was recently featured in an EQ magazine cover story. She has won a number of songwriting awards, including a third prize placement in the rock category of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and third place in the Billboard National Song Contest.
