Jaime and Mary Pena are her parents' names. She has Mexican and American origins. Besides her, the parents have another two daughters Janet and Jackie. In 1995 she was offered the chance to perform in a Tribute to Selena.
This way she became popular and signed a contract with Q Productions. Between 1995 and 2000 she had a contract with EMI Latin and since 2003 with Univison Music Group. In 1996 she released her debut album, "Dulzura". Besides this album she released another eight.
She sings Latin and pop and was nominated two times at the Grammy Awards during the years. "Vamos al Mundial", a song written and
performed by her, was elected to be th e anthem for the 2002 FIFA World
Cup.
On June 3, 2007 she married Obie Bermudez, who is a Latin Grammy winner. The couple is expecting a child in 2007. In 2006 she was seen along Ciara in the MTV's All You've Got.
She is loved and encouraged by her family and fans and her career is going great. There's no doubt she will continue having success and her fans are eager to see her new projects and albums.
