Ivano Fossati

Mini Biography

Born in Genoa, he studies piano and starts playing flute and guitars in various rock bands of the town. The Europe-wide success comes with the band Delirium in early '70s, but after one album Fossati chooses a solo career, moving toward quality songwriting in the '80s when he writes and produces a number of album and songs for the greatest singers of Italian music. In the '90s, he puts in his works suggestions from jazz and ethnic music, writing albums ("Discanto", "La pianta del tè", "Lindbergh", "Macramè") acclaimed from both the critics and his audience. He has never stopped writing also music for theatre.
