International Dana

Transexual Dance singer Dana International was born in 1972 in Israel as Yaron Cohen. She became the first drag queen musician to launch a successful career in Israel. In 1998, representing Israel with the song “Diva”, she won the grand prix at the Eurovision song contest in Birmingham, UK, and became an International gay icon. She later went on to record dance albums in English, French and Hebrew. A few of her big hits include “Diva”, “Lola”, “Alorarola”, “Fata Morgana”, “Woman in Love” (Barbara Striesend cover), “There are girls”, “Don Quixote” and many more. She currently lives and works in Tel Aviv.
