Yellow Capra is a collective from Milan born in 2000. The actual set-up of seven people came naturally as part of the band’s evolution during these years and includes guitar, bass, drums, cello, flute, keys-piano & laptop and a saxophone. The band implemented their shows with visual collages of photographs and footage shot by the band itself or excerps taken from movies by visionary directors.
Yellow Capra published a first EP with Wallace Records, after that Piloft Recordings produced a split album on vinyl along with scottish indie rock band Project A-KO (formerly Urusei Yatsura), each band performed a cover (Yellow Capra chose “A Forest” by The Cure) and another song from the upcoming first full lenght work “YC” (Piloft/Wide 2006). This late Fall the second album will be out on stores, “Chez dede” (Piloft/Wide) and the band is now preparing for the shows to come.
Yellow Capra played at the International Theatre Festival in Bregenz (Austria, 2001), at Tago Fest 2007; at Milano Film Festival (2006, 2002 and 2001) and supported several italian and foreign bands such as Calla, Arab Strap, Giardini di Mirò, Gatto Ciliegia, Ronin, Milaus, Ultraviolet make me sick.
