How the hell do I pronounce this? After several attempts to break your tongue, always keep in mind that after all it's just a name.
The band has been formed in November 1995, risen from the ashes of the ugly remains of different ugly Bands the members played in before. The four guys in possession of the ringing names of HONOLULU SILVER, TÜRK TRAVOLTA, DON LUDGER DE LA CARDENEO und HERR NEIDHARDT startet reproducing their main influences like popular pop/punkbands from the early 80's to the early 90's, which could be witnessed on the first album ("Für Recht und Ordnung", Vitaminepillen/Rabauz Rec., Feb. 1997) which isn't vailable anymore because the band thought their second release, the "POPPXAPANK" - Album (Sept. '97, Vitaminepillen/Rabauz Rec.) a much better reference as a debut - album. The music went more and more under the influences of different genres of pop/rock music and most of all: the uptempo Ska Beats supported by several horn sections ("DELIKATESSEN 500SL", Vitaminepillen Rec., March '99).
This development took a first climax in the March 2000 - release "EN GARDE" (Vitaminepillen Rec.) , which is a fine collection of brilliant rock/punksongs spiced with warm and joyful Popmelodies and sometimes a slight ska influence, made for delight and pleasure and accompanied by german lyrics, thoroughly to be read and understood. Over those years the band played moe than 200 shows in 4 countries and gained a tremendous number of fans. This isn't explicitly the underground scene, which is remarkable for an independent band without a strong-financed promotion machine behind them. The most ribging names tours have been absolved with are Epitaphs TERRORGRUPPE and netherlands'succeeders BAMBIX.
THE WOHLSTANDSKINDER recently recorded 16 new songs and a videoclip to the "Wie ein Stern" song, that were released on a three track single Wie ein Stern in april and an entire album Baby, Blau! in may (Vitaminepillen Rec./ Zomba Rec. Distribution).
On June 17th THE WOHLSTANDSKINDER signed a deal with the Unsiversal sublabel Mercury, and will now work on a new album, after playing a huge tour in september.
