Unknown Mortal Orchestra is made up of Alan Palomo of Neon Indian, William Beven of Burial, and Mint Chicks songwriter Ruban Nielson. Ironically, the project was started when Nielson felt the need to leave the music industry. The trio’s music takes influences from R&B, classic rock, as well as the mixture of each of the trio’s main bands (Neon Indian, Burial, The Mint Chicks).
