Romeo Santos is an American singer Dominican-Puerto Rican descent. He was the leader, vocalist and composer of the bachata group Aventura. As a member of Aventura, Santos has been a key figure in popularizing the bachata internationally, bringing songs to the top of the Billboard Latin charts and Europe.
Anthony is the composer of almost all topics that have achieved popularity, of the group Aventura. He has also written hits for artists like Wisin & Yandel ("Night of Sex"), Thalia (No, no, no), Hector Acosta ("Me voy"), and Antony Santos ("Kill").
Santos was born on July 21, 1981 in The Bronx, New York. With a Puerto Rican mother and Dominican father Romeo joined the church choir at the age of 12 years. Simultaneously, Romeo developed a great affinity for bachata (own style of music from the Dominican Republic, with a great drag on the lower classes) long before this style of music is crowded around the world when he was 15 years old.
Prior to joining Aventura singing with his cousin and two friends in a band called Los Tinellers (refer to the pronunciation of Anglo-Saxon word, teenagers, meaning teenagers), a group made up of Lenny and Romeo himself in the mid-90, which managed to put out an album called Love Trap in the late 90's, was renamed the Tinellers Aventura.
In 2009, he was invited to sing for President of the United States Barack Obama in the White House.
On September 12, 2010 Romeo Santos was presented at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards to present an award.
After great successes as a songwriter and lead singer of Aventura, in April 2011.
Anthony announced his separation from the group to pursue a solo career. On May 9, Romeo released his first single "You" from his first album Fórmula.1 The song became number one on the Hot Latin Songs list and Tropical Songs.
Romeo Santos has a child from a wedlock relationship which he had when he was only 16.
