Lady Jaydee aka Binti Machozi started singing in church at the age of 7

In the mid 1990s she was a member of the Afro Reign group

It was not until 2001 when she released her first solo album titled “Machozi” which crowned her Tanzanian Best Female Artist in 2001. She has continued winning numerous awards in and out of Tanzania including the most recent awards in South Africa during the Channel O Video Music Awards Best African East 2003,for her video "Machozi ,"2005 for the “Distance” and Best Collaboration Video with Titi from Uganda for “Makini” video In addition of using swahili as her primary language in her music, Jaydee has songs that incorporate English, French, Lingala, Zulu etc

she blends rich, soulful African vocals with arrangements and instrumentation blending both African traditional and modern influences.

Notable international collaboration include Samba Mapangala from Congo, Chameleone, Mad Ice and Ngoni from Uganda and Mina Nawe from South Africa

  • 2002 performed at Kora All Africa Designers competition in SunCity
  • May 2003 Released second album titled Binti *She received Tanzania Youth Achievement award for best r'n'b single Usiusemee Moyo 2003
  • 2003 Kora Music Awards nominee for The Most Promising Female Artist In Africa
  • 2004 awarded Best R&B Album at the Tanzania Music Awards
  • December 2005 Released third album titled Moto
  • 2005 awarded Best Female Artist from Tanzania at the Uganda Pearl of Africa Music awards
  • 2005 Kora Awards nominee for the Best Female from East Africa
  • 2006 awarded Best Female Artist from Tanzania at the Uganda Pearl of Africa Music awards
  • June 2007 Jaydee released her fourth album which is titled Shukrani that include the smash hit single "Siku hazigandi" as well as Nishike Mkono feat. Mad Ice, Njaloand Nyimbo Zetu
  • 2007 awarded Best Female Artist from Tanzania at the Uganda Pearl of Africa Music awards
  • 2007 Tanzania kili music award best female vocalist / artist 2008 First Olympic torch bearer - African Artist
