Jellyfish

So who are Jellyfish? The band got their start in the cultural wasteland that was the very late eighties when a handful of musicians from defunct underground pop bands from Los Angeles and San Francisco discovered a common interest in highly stylized pop with a heavy British invasion influence. Andy Sturmer, Jason Falkner, and brothers Roger and Chris Manning all donned over-the-top hippie garb as part of a gimmick for the band, but unlike so many bands with gimmicks, Jellyfish didn't need to use their appearance as a way to drum up interest. Their music spoke loudly and clearly for itself. Jellyfish played power pop with a heavy emphasis on the "power." The had plenty of melodic pop hooks and catchy lyrics, but the full, rich sound,Sadly, Jellyfish never caught on, and the group broke up after their sophomore release, but their influence can be heard in practically every melodic pop act in the last decade IF ANYONE READING THIS IS INTERESTED IN JELLYFISH PLEASE R.S.V.P.
