Ira Losco is a famous, maltese, alternative singer who is the best-selling artist in her country with her albums: “Accident Prone” (2006), “Fortune Teller” (2008), as well as “Unmasked” the unplugged album, which was released in 2007. In August, she released her second remix album called “Mixed Beats”. It includes remixes of songs from her three previous albums mixed by both local and international dj’s.
Ira, as a solo artist, also released 2 pop albums- “Someone Else” in 2004, and “Butterfly” in 2001 as well as came 2nd place in the Eurovision Song Contest in Tallinn, in 2002, with the song “7th Wonder”. In the late 90’s, she was also in an Alternative Rock band Tiara, who had moderate success in Malta, with singles such as “Riverman”, “Basketball”, and their EP “Hi-Infidelity” in 2000.
