Known collectively as Fireball Ministry — Rev. James A. Rota II, guitar, vocals; Emily Burton, guitar; bassist Janis Tanaka (L7) and drummer John Oreshnick (ex-Muzza Chunka) — have been described by Metal Hammer Magazine as “a witches' brew of classic American rock 'n' roll."
Their hard-hitting debut album “Où Est La Rock?" (Bong Load Records), mixed by Tom Rothrock and Rob Schnapf (Fu Manchu, Beck, Toadies), features guest appearances by Nick Menza (ex-Megadeth) and Guy Pinhas (ex-Obsessed, Acid King). Having received glowing reviews from Kerrang!, Metal Maniacs, Metal Hammer, Mean Streets and CMJ online, the band was a hot ticket at the 1999 NXNW and 2000 SXSW music conferences. “Où Est La Rock?" received national radio play on college and hard rock stations, as well as KNAC online, and was featured on Fox Sports Net's Blue Torch. Fireball Ministry has shared bills with Danzig, Fu Manchu, Nebula, Unida, The Atomic Bitchwax and Raging Slab, and played the November to Dismember Metalfest. The band has been nominated for a 2001 LA Weekly Music Award for Best Hard Rock/ Metal band.
Fireball Ministry's second effort "FMEP" (Small Stone Records) features a guest appearance by Brad Davis (Fu Manchu) and is a collection of new material as well as a blistering homage to the music that has inspired them.
