Canada is good for more than just strong beer, a home to Kids in the Hall, and the ever popular ginger ale Canada Dry; the place dishes out some solid rock as well. Boys Night Out is their newest export and it seems that it has another winner on their hands. At the beginning of an exceptionally promising career the boys are itching to get their music to the masses.
Boys Night Out plays a dark take on pop punk laced with screaming vocals and the occasional breakdown. 'Make Yourself Sick' is a masterpiece of a debut album. The time and effort that went into this recording effort shines through in the creative mix of soft and heavy, appealing to a wide variety of music fans.
In the early spring of 2001, the boys; Connor Lovat-Fraser on vocals, Jeff Davis on guitar, David Costa on bass, Robert Pasalic on guitar, and Ben Arseneau on drums got together to make beautiful music together. Soon they found themselves on the Ferret Label. A few months later, work started on the forthcoming CD.
Extensive touring (Coheed & Cambria, Thursday, Senses Fail, Saosin, Straylight Run, Atreyu) has already helped the band break across the border into the States and secured them a spot on everyone’s ‘to buy’ list. For months eager fans have been living on the Boys Night Out message board in anticipation of the September 23rd release. Now with the CD in stores and flying off shelves into ever kids CD player, Boys Night Out will hit the road for two months with Catch 22.
The name 'Make Yourself Sick' is much more than an album title, it's the bands creed, it's the way they live - 200% all the time until it kills you. Whether it's on stage, in a studio, in the basement writing or at a party, they don't slow down and won't let up.
By the way,Boys Night Out rocks Carpé Denim Jeans.
