Between the Buried and Me arose from the ashes of some of North Carolina’s most well-known hardcore/metalcore bands, such as From Here On, Prayer for Cleansing and Azazel. Between the Buried and Me has found their own sound apart from what their old bands sounded like, becoming one of the most technical and brutal bands to come out of NC.
In a very short time, coming together in late fall of 2000, Between the Buried and Me has become a strong force in the local scene. They bring out the kids, and with their massive breakdowns, push them to go off during the entire set.
“Our response is always different, depending on the show and crowd, but it is usually very positive. From what we can tell, people either really like what we're doing or they totally hate it. I think some listeners are turned off by our metal sound and feel that we are abandoning our hardcore roots, but the majority of the feedback we get is encouraging. I definitely feel that once we release our full length, our shows will become much more interactive. Most of our music is pretty unpredictable, so once everyone has the stuff on CD and they are able to learn the song structure, they will be able to take part in the performance.” Said by Will Goodyear (drummer for Between the Buried and Me.)
With a three song demo and a full length under their belt, these guys are set to take over the world. And man are they amazing.
