Incantation

Few artists are able to leave an outstanding mark upon the music world - a world that renders names and faces in a wash of media static. Familiarity is second to quick-fix accessibility, and integrity is traded in for desperate attempts to stay current. Rare is the artist or band who can leave the most scant of marks. More precious are those who build a legacy which will extend past their years. Over their illustrious fourteen year career, INCANTATION has become an infamous death metal institution and pillar of the international underground metal scene. The staggering combination of the band's ominous sound, vicious style, incredible work ethic and unwavering dedication to the music has left an indelible mark unmatched by all except the most legendary of their peers. Their ominous sound and style, borne of founder/guitarist John McEntee's desire to meld classic metal influences with an over-the-top heaviness heavier than anything that had come before it, has cast a shadow long and dark over the entire genre. They are the innovators of what has been dubbed the "New York death metal style" and have influenced hundreds of bands the world over. Arguably metal's hardest working band, INCANTATION have endeavored to tour every corner of the world; from Canada to Colombia, Argentina to Europe, Central America and the States. INCANTATION has ventured forth like conquering crusaders, converting thousands of new fans time after time. The band members iron-willed commitment to their craft has turned them into champions for their cause. Many members have spearheaded underground labels and distribution companies devoted wholly to the music. Additionally INCANTATION have given many other bands their first opportunity to tour on American soil. Bands from America (NILE, ABSU, PUNGENT STENCH, KATKLYSM) and other corners of the globe (Norway's ENSLAVED, Brazil's KRISIUN, and Japan's DEFILED) all owe a debt of gratitude for INCANTATION's use of their own tours to lend a helping hand to their metal brethren. Two of the INCANTATION's three previous full-lengths - Onward To Golgotha and Diabolical Conquest, are considered classics that stand not only as rules of quality but are also mile markers in the genre's growth and development. The bands collective output ranks within the style's unholy grail. The last chapter in the INCANTATION saga was The Infernal Storm. Recorded by longtime producer Bill Korecky (Integrity, Earth Crisis) at Cleveland's Mars Recording Compound, The Infernal Storm was the realization of eleven years of hard work and was one of Incantation's finest hours. The Infernal Storm captured the band at its finest and most creative apex to date. Dark harmonies burned through the oppressively heavy guitar attack that has become the bands trademark. Throughout tracks such as Sempiternal Pandemonium.... smoldering passages of ruin and despair crawl forth like so many creatures from the depths; measuring and lurking before exploding into a violent fury. Frontman Mike Saez (formerly of Deathrune, Mortician) spat venom from his lungs over the bands razor sharp compositions and the crisp drum attacks laid down by session player Dave Culross (Malevolent Creation, ex-Suffocation) were devastating. Then with the triumphant return of longtime drummer Kyle Severn (Forsaken Mourning, Diabolical Conquest, Tribute to the Goat) to the fold, the band had come full circle. Immediately, they began writing material together and making plans to tour. Hitting the road across America to bring forth the Storming with Vengeance Tour of 2000, the band played with a fury that fans had not seen in years! Many attesting that this was some of the greatest performances of Incantation ever witnessed! Recently, the group switched to a new record company and home - Necropolis Records America, Candlelight Europe. INCANTATION is quite pleased with the direction they are heading. With a strong commitment from Necropolis owner/CEO, Paul Thind, and the entire Necropolis / Candlelight staff's eagerness to begin this unholy alliance, INCANTATION feels

great about the new relationship; and, have already begun the recording of their first release with Necropolis. Upon release of the album, INCANTATION will embark on numerous tours in 2002 and 2003, which will begin them to North America, Europe, South America Australia and New Zealand. INCANTATION`S ongoing legacy of blasphemous death metal will forever shake the walls of heaven it’s self!
