Some news: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=30925723&blogId=505966274 “From now on we write our name “Her Bright Skies”. Simply cuz people kept fucking the other version up. So change the name in ur itunes catalogue or whatever ;D” (c)

So…

Her Bright Skies is a Swedish post-hardcore band. They released a demo in 2006 (self-titled), an EP in 2007 called Beside Quiet Waters and a full length in 2008 called A Sacrament; Ill City.

2007 was a year painted with success for herbrightskies. With the release of their EP “Beside Quiet Waters” the band was named “The Pride of Jönköping” - their home town - and heard one of their songs on the radio for the first time. When they weren’t working on material for their next release, the band spent a hectic summer playing popular Swedish festivals like Moshpit Open, Rookie and Augustibuller, which was followed up by a September tour of Norway, where the band reached past the Swedish audiences for the first time. Fueled by dedication for their music and the scene, the band has come a long way since it all started back in the fall of 2005. With their almost notoriously energetic and powerful live act they have played with the best and met and exceeded the standards of critics and fans over and over again, catching the eye of the international music scene as well. The band has been contacted by several bookers and a horde of fans from all over Europe and America who have showed their appreciation on their website, urging them to tour outside Scandinavia.

After releasing their 6 track EP in May 2007 on Pretty Dirty Promotions, the band split ways with their original label in early 2008 to sign with successful up-and-coming Örebro-based label District 19 Inc, where they will release their debut album “A Sacrament; Ill City” in late may.

This year, the band is looking to top the success of 2007 with a new label, new motivation and new songs. District 19 Inc holds some of the most active and passionate bookers and organizers in the hardcore and emo scene, and in 2008, the band is looking to reach further with their music. “We’ve always done things our own way”, says Petter, guitarist. “2008 is the year we show the world how we roll”.
