With their debut album "DIVA" in 1996, HEAVENWOOD have established themselves as a strong force in the Portugese Metal-Scene which can be seen with their very good sales of their debut Cd. Their melodic, tight and emotional Music found a great fanbase Europewide and enthusiastic reviews with a remarkable following in their homecountry Portugal. Also in Japan their success was remarkable. After their debut release the band toured over Europe twice, first in the end of 1996 with ATROCITY and IN FLAMES and with THEATRE OF TRAGEDY and LAKE OF TEARS in spring 1997. With these tours HEAVENWOOD established their name in the evergrowing Goth-Scene. With their new album "SWALLOW", HEAVENWOOD do a great step, musically, personally and with their songwriting. Again the band recorded at Commusication Studio with producer Gerhard Magin, but the sound and the songwriting of the band changed impressingly. The range is much wider than on the debut, which can be easily recognized by the appearance of GAMMA RAY- mastermind Kai Hansen, (Guest-vocals on "LUNA" & "DOWNCAST") and LIV KRISTINE from THEATRE OF TRAGEDY (Guest-vocals on "DOWNCAST"). With this new album the guys open themselves to all kinds of music-fans without giving up their trademarks like wonderful guitar-melodies and emotional songs. After the recording of "SWALLOW" they recruited a new permanent second guitar-player, Miguel Vaquero (ex-WEB). "Catchy" songs and lovely melodies are the strong points in HEAVENWOOD's music, for example "Heartquake", "Rain Of July" or the genius "Downcast".
