Have Heart was a straight edge hardcore band formed in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 2002. Signed to Bridge Nine Records and Think Fast Records.
Recorded a demo released in 2003, in 2004 the “What Counts” EP (Think Fast Records), and full-length “The Things We Carry” (Bridge Nine Records) in 2006. Full-length “Songs To Scream At The Sun” (Bridge Nine Records) is their latest release to date. “Songs to Scream at the Sun” includes lyrics about vocalist Pat Flynn coming to terms with his family’s history and present situation. Have Heart ended after their last show, October 17th, 2009.
Their last show was played at Club Lido in Revere, Massachusetts on 10/17/2009 (The 10 Year Anniversary of “National Edge Day”) in front of over 2,000 fans. Fans were treated to a special performance of In My Eyes songs w/ Have Heart as the backing band. In My Eyes was the biggest straight edge band when they broke up in 2000 and it worked perfectly for Sweet Pete to come out and honor them.
Have Heart fittingly ended their 7 year career with the song “Watch Me Rise”
