Check out Zach’s new band, Popular Culture.
Have Fun Dying, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, started around 2003 and performed as a duo with Zach Mobley (guitar/vocals), and Nic Johnson (drums). They added Kacie Ogle (piano/bass) to the line up before recording their first album, On the Lips, in 2004.
After enjoying success through various internet promotions (#1 track of the day at garageband.com ), radio play (on Tulsa’s 104.5 The Edge and Oklahoma City’s 94.7 The Buzz), local magazines (on the cover of Urban Tulsa Weekly), nationwide tours and showcases in Los Angeles and at SXSW, drummer Nic Johnson was replaced by Adam Johnson (no relation). Adam accompanied the band for their last E.P. and had the chance to open for grunge heroes, The Meat Puppets, before the band broke up in 2008
Strongly influenced By the Smashing Pumpkins, The Sex Pistols, The Pixies, Nirvana, Spoon, and the Cure, Have Fun Dying released four self promoted albums and one E.P.: 2004: On The Lips 2005: Guillotines for Drama Queens 2006: Fetus Envy 2007: (What’s the Story) Purgatory? 2008: The Mesozoic E.P.
