Hard Kaur is the first Indian Female rapper and the first Indian Punjabi rapper. Her actual name is Taran Kaur Dhillon and was born in the year 1979 in Punjab. She moved to grey, cold England in 1991 after her father was tragically killed in the 1984 riots after Indira Gandhi's death.
There's no denying that Hard Kaur would just be 5 feet tall but when it comes to music, she reaches up the sky. Her first Bollywood break appeared in the year 2007 and put her in the lime light with the song "Glassy" in Sriram Raghavan's movie "Johnny Gaddaar". She is not new to the scene as she has been in the music industry for the past ten years setting records in the UK. Her rapping skills were further on seen in movies like "Haal e Dil", "Kismat Konnection", "Ugly Aur Pagli", "Bachna Ae Haseeno", "Singh is King" and most recently "Jai Veeru". Hard Kaur was recently signed by Eminem for his company. Her rhymes prove to be the perfect compliment to Bollywood's love affair with Hip Hop fusion.
Hard Kaur had also participated in the recent dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhla jaa" Season 3 where she was eliminated in the semi finals. She was eliminated due to lack of votes from the audiences but her vote out was much objected by the judges of the show who said she deserved to be in the finals.
Hard Kaur truly believes in "As long as you have the talent and the passion, chase your dreams". She is called Hard Kaur as Hard means she does not take crap from anyone and Kaur means a Sikhni princess.
