What started in February '95 as a fun idea, turned out to be a serious band after winning several festival prizes. The idea of the band is to bring back the Glory-days of Metal (middle eighties) by playing cover songs from this era and own songs. The musical part is completed with a very bizarre sensual-macabre show. Goddess Of Desire has the name being the "largest Show-Metalband from Holland"!

At first we played traditional Metal covers, but later we started writing our own songs. Our 4th gig was already on Dutch TV and our 8th gig was the first across the border (Belgium). Journalists reported us as a Shock-rockband and we've been refused a few times in places because of our controversial show and/or lyrics. Still, Goddess Of Desire turned out to be a very wanted band with a professional show.
Goddess already did very much headline shows but also supported bands like Destruction(D), Gwar(US), Therion(S), Rockbitch(UK) and Gorefest(NL). Now Goddess Of Desire is well-known in the Metal-scene also because of a very successful show in front of 15.000 people on the Dynamo Open Air 1997. We were also noticed by television; RTL-4, SBS-6, TMF and all Dutch news-programs broad-casted us. Early '98 a headline tour through Germany was done and G.O.D. headlined the partystage at Wacken Open Air! The first deed in 1999 was signing a 3 album deal with Metal Blade who already re-released our 2nd CD/LP! At the very end of 1999 Goddess & (Tankard) supported Sodom on their Fuck the Millennium tour through Germany.
The Show:
Goddess Of Desire already did 2 different shows and now the theme of the show is "Hell On Earth". It is brought by making the stage more macabre with a background with lots of skulls, chains, torches and a lot of pyrotechnics. Artificial light is minimized (only a few red and green spots in front of the stage below) to keep a dark atmosphere. In all of this, 4 playing members; dressed in spikes, leather, bulletbelts and fur; bring their music. During the show, Lilith, Delilah & Medusa come on stage, dressed up as nuns, witches and she-devils. The stage roady, dressed as a priest/monk will also participate in all of this. In the beginning the audience will be given the Corpus Christi by the nuns. Also a she-devil will molest a nun. Goddess Of Desire is a band you have to see at least once in your life!
