Geron Davis (born in Louisiana) is best known as the composer of the song Holy Ground. He was first signed by Meadowgreen Music, who also signed Grammy Award-winning American singer and songwriter Michael W. Smith, rose from his humble beginnings as a country boy from the foothills of Savannah, Tennessee in 1979, and later to become a hit in the charts, sung and recorded several times over the years, including top artists like Barbra Streisand in the album [1997] "Higher Ground" , "...a lady who's sung on Broadway.
