A native of the Sinaloa region of Mexico, German Montero embraced the area’s predominant banda style and unveiled his debut album, PENSANDO EN TI, in 2008. Montero’s reedy voice plays well off of his song’s brass-heavy arrangements, which nod to traditional Mexican music while incorporating a slick, modern aesthetic. Montero’s follow-up, COMPRENDEME, expanded his audience in both Mexico and the United States, making him one of the most popular young banda singers of his era.
