Folly

This five-piece audio circus hailing from Sussex County, NJ crawls out of the woods to create a montage of unrelenting sonic clatter. Displaying a melee of sing-along hardcore, mathematical metal, dreamy ambience, and even a two-step affinity of ska and reggae, Folly coerces bipolar conscience by setting a standard between upbeats and beat downs alike. Drawing from elation and sadness, emotions seem to commingle and sometimes battle each other, as pummeling screams and merciless chugs pounce to and from a more reconciled calm semblance.

While the two founding members, Agim Colaku and Geoff Towle, hog-tie their minds in their guitar strings, Anthony Wille and Arben Colaku anchor the outfit with abounding drums and bass rhythms respectively. Jon Tummillo blares at the audience calling back to him, just as quickly as he utilizes a choppy hip-hop influenced banter.

Since this lineup solidified from 2000, Folly has endured an innumerable amount of national/regional tours and two albums under their belt ("For My Friends" EP out of print, "Insanity Later" Triple Crown Records). Often a subject of either ridicule or dire appreciation from any exploited music scene message board, Folly hopes to unite true undaunted lovers of music by combining all ends of the spectrum. With their very own sound and style distinguishing them from (insert generic dolled-up pretty-boy indy rock band here), they take their ugly mugs and their uncanny cathartic live show everywhere they go, offering a spiritual outlet of both aggression and laughter. Ensuring a lifestyle together, as friends.. better yet as family, Folly continues to explore the possibilities of creating intricate, original music. Luckily, there are no boundaries one can exceed while living a life consisting solely of friends, fun, and music. Afterall and most importantly, it is their belief that humanity is instrumental.
