Flying Tigers

Combining the intensity of classic rock & roll and the power of hybrid heavy metal methods and styling intuitions, the Flying Tigers advance distinct grooves for the alternative metal arena. Vocalist and guitarist Ryan Martin, along with drummer Gary Benson, decided on assembling the Flying Tigers following years of playing with several other bands in and around the Los Angeles area. Dorian Heartsong, formerly the bass master with Powerman 5000, united with the duo in late 2000, that way finalizing the team's lineup. During the time following their formation, the Tigers started regularly playing live, ultimately spending most of the summer of 2001 on the road, playing as the supporting act for the Cult. After the end of the tour, the trio went back to Los Angeles and started working on their awaited debut album. Uniting their efforts with those of Brendan O'Brien, a producer whose credits include working with Rage Against the Machine or Stone Temple Pilots, the trio spent most of the following months working on their first disc. After months of intense work, the band finally offered Flying Tigers in 2002, gaining even larger acclaim and notoriety.
