Dan Erlewine is a veteran guitar repairer who has worked for such players as Mike Bloomfield, Ted Nugent, Jerry Garcia, and Albert King, and built Albert King's guitar "Lucy" in 1972. After producing the "Dan Erlewine Guitar Hospital" series of videotapes on guitar repair in 1984, he began writing a monthly repair column for Guitar Player Magazine in 1985. Based on the success of these columns, in 1990 he produced an internationally successful book, Guitar Player Repair Guide, for Guitar Player's parent company, Miller Freeman Publications. Dan is now the resident repair research expert for Stewart-MacDonald's Guitar Shop Supply in Athens, OH, a leading company in the guitar field.
