Feeling left out is a heartfelt duo from northern New Jersey. Armed with songs about betrayal, relationships, and life experiences, they are developing a strong and diverse following of listeners all across the country.
FLO was formed to provide an outlet for Bill and Joe to work together again. At the time of formation, Joe was in another band and Bill was not working with anyone. They decided to put a band together but knew how hard it was to find a drummer. After looking in Joe's song repertoire, they figured that these songs could be written on acoustics and still carry the same emotion and weight as a song written with a full band. Shortly after they formed they started playing shows in and out of NJ.
Along with playing shows all over the place, they have also toured all over the east coast and even dabbled into the Midwest a bit. Look for a full Midwest tour in the Spring of 2003.
The first demo released on Double Kick Records, "Running On Empty" was recorded in April of 2001, only a few months after they formed. It was recorded in about 8 hours on a shoestring budget. Their next ep, "Mr. Everything I'm Not" was recorded a few months later in September. After going through a rough spot in Joe's life, he decided to put to song everything that he was going through in hopes someone could relate. So far the response to "Mr Everything I'm Not" has been overwhelming. It is currently in nationwide distribution and has almost sold out of it's initial pressing. Their newest release on Double Kick Records, "Wish Me Luck" was recorded in September of 2002, almost a year to the day of "Mr. Everything I'm Not". As a band they've gone through some new experiences between both recording sessions. While still dwelling in the past a bit, Joe has shifted the theme of his lyrics a full 180 degrees. They've grown individually and collectively and this growth is evident on "Wish Me Luck".
FLO has played punk rock shows with bands like Autopilot Off, Hey Mercedes, and The Rocking Horse Winner as well as quiet acoustic shows with the likes of Dashboard Confessional. They also showcase their own shows, usually at colleges/coffeehouses where they are the only band playing. So check them out if they're in your area.
The main reason for FLO forming was to have a reason for Bill and Joe to play together again. As long as both of them are still alive, FLO will be together.
