The distinctive, recognizable sound of the flawless three-part harmony of Angela Kelman, Jake Leiske and ShaunaRae Samograd now incapsules the most successful songs of Farmer’s Daughter within one CD called The Best Of Farmer’s Daughter.

In addition, two new songs will be added to this CD entitled "Walkin’ in the Sunshine" co-written by the infamous Kostas and Jeff Hanna (lead singer of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) and "You and Only You" also written by Kostas.

Since inception the BC based trio has gone on to record three albums, resulting in a string of hits and massive radio play on CMT Canada. Farmer’s Daughter is continually being honoured with awards and accolades, such as six BCCMA Awards in 1999, a 1998 Juno Award for Best Country Group, a CMT Fan’s Choice Nomination and a 1997 CCMA Country Group of the Year Award, Farmer’s Daughter is also a regular guest on television programs such as Canada AM, Pamela Wallin Live, CBC Newsworld, Mike Bullard and TNN.

Non-stop touring has seen Farmer’s Daughter headlining festivals, concerts and corporate events across the continent. Previous highlights include Big Valley Jamboree, NHL Awards, and Canada Summer Games. The group also has fond memories of performing at Euro-Disney in France and this year at the Free Wheels Festival at Clermont Ferrand, France (40,000 Hells Angels Festival).

Donating a good portion of their time and talent to help others is incredibly important to Farmer’s Daughter. Humanitarian tours that took them to Israel, Croatia, Bosnia and gave them a renewed sense of patriotism and life-changing experiences.

The 1993 independent debut album Girls Will Be Girls put Farmer’s Daughter on the musical map generating seven chart topping singles. In September of 1996, Farmer’s Daughter signed to Universal Music and released MAKIN’HAY, their sophomore album that went gold in Canada and produced five more hit singles. On October 6 of 1998, Farmer’s Daughter took a hands-on approach, co-producing with internationally renowned producer/engineer Marc Ramaer (KD Lange-"Ingénue") This is the Life. This CD produced two top ten radio hits. Over the period of seven years Farmer’s Daughter has had the privilege to write with such writing greats as Kostas (Patty Loveless, Mavericks), Marcus Hummon (Tim McGraw, Wynonna Judd, Dixie Chicks), Stan Meissner (Celine Dion, Ricochet). They have had the privilege to work with special musical guest such as Natalie MacMaster & Randy Bachman.

The Best of Farmer’s Daughter therefore brings to this CD a composite of the life experience musically of Farmer’s Daughter. Over the past seven years, all the way from Family Love to Son Of a Preacherman to Cornfields or Cadillacs to the incredible Now that I’m on my Own, and now to their two new releases, speaking about the songs, and Kosras.
