Hailing from the São Paulo area of Brazil comes this new fascinating melodic heavy metal band called Eyes of Shiva.
The band started out back in 2001 when guitarists Renato Mendes and Ricardo Gil began writing their original compositions together.
Shortly after they saw the local vocalist André Ferrari when he was singing with another band at a live concert. They immediately knew that he was the right singer for their band and asked him to join Eyes of Shiva – he gladly accepted.
The last pieces of the puzzle came together when they invited bass player Gustavo Boni and drummer Ricardo Longhi into the band.
In 2003 the band had the material all ready for the debut album Eyes of Soul which they began recording.
What sets Eyes of Shiva apart is their unique sense of combining the fast-paced metal songs with a local folklore.
As producer for the album Fábio Laguna (keyboard player in the brazilian power metal band Angra) was chosen and Dennis Ward (from the German melodic metal act Pink Cream 69) was chosen to mix the album.
In January 2004 the band got in touch with the Danish based Metal Agency Intrometal Management who right away fell in love with the sound and decided to sign the band.
The band had already worked out a licensing deal for the Japanese territory with JVC Records and for the South American market with MasterPower Music (Brazil).
