EVANESCENCE

EVANESCENCE - Tourniquet lyrics

rate me

I tried to kill the pain,

But only brought more.

(so much more)

I lay dying,

And I'm pouring, crimson regret, and betrayal.

I'm dying,

Praying,

Bleeding,

Screaming.

Am I too lost to be saved?

Am I too lost ?

My god! my tourniquet,

Return to me salvation.

My god! my tourniquet,

Return to me salvation.

Do you remember me?

Lost for so long.

Will you be on the other side?

Or Will you forget me?

I'm dying,

Praying,

Bleeding,

Screaming.

Am I too lost to be saved?

Am I too lost?

My god! my tourniquet,

Return to me salvation.

My god! my tourniquet,

Return to me salvation.

(return to me salvation)

(I want to die!)

My god! my tourniquet,

Return to me salvation.

My god! my tourniquet,

Return to me salvation.

My wounds cry for the grave.

My soul cries, for deliverance.

Will I be denied

Christ! tourniquet! my suicide.

“Tourniquet” is part of the debut studio album “Fallen” by the American rock band Evanescence. The song was written by the drummer Rocky Gray and was first released as “My Tourniquet” by the Christian metal band called Soul Embraced, but Evanescence`s version is an adaptation of the original song.
The story of this track is about a girl who wanted to commit suicide and asks God to forgive her questioning if you enter or not heaven when taking your life. A tourniquet is a device used to stop bleeding, usually by choking off an artery so the blood can't flow out. In the song, God is the tourniquet.
