Enthroned

Enthroned were formed during 1993 by Sabathan and Cernunnos after the split of their previous bands Morbid Death and Blaspherion. They soon found a guitarist, Tseboath (from the unholy death metal band Slanesh) and the so-called Blackened Horde was born.

Enthroned released a 5 track promo tape in mid ‘94 which brought them to the attention of some independent labels. A 7” split EP was then released with Ancient Rites on the underground label, Afterdark Records. After the demise of Afterdark Records, Evil Omen Records (sub-division of Osmose Productions) released the first album, Prophecies Of Pagan Fire.

Sometime after the release of the debut album , the band enlisted a second guitarist named Nornagest, previously with the band Heresia.

Eventually, Tseboath was replaced by Nebiros, a very extreme musician who has brought his own style of originality to the band, complimenting the brutal and barbaric style of Nornagest.

Since the release of their first demo, the band have always been busy developing an amazing live reputation. Enthroned shared many stages with other acts such as Marduk, Enslaved, Dark Funeral, Angelcorpse, Gehenna, Luciferion and Emperor to name but a few. In 1996 along with Ancient Rites and Bewitched, they invaded The Netherlands , Belgium, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.

In April 1997 just as time was approaching to start recording Towards The Skullthrone Of Satan, Cernunnos committed suicide. This was naturally a heavy blow to the remaining members, but in true Enthroned style, they went ahead to record the new album in memory of Cernunnos having recruited a session drummer from a local thrash band.

The Blackened Horde appeared at the Dragons Blaze festival for their first show with the new drummer Namroth Blackthorn, receiving an awesome response from the crowd.

In April 1998 the band hit the road through Europe with Dark Funeral while releasing Regie Sathanas, a worldwide acclaimed black metal masterpiece dedicated to their deceased comrade and later that year they toured again with labelmates Hecate Enthroned and Usurper.

By the end of the same year the band entered the Abyss Studios (Sweden) to give birth to their 3rd album, The Apocalypse Manifesto which was released in May 1999. No other title could better reflect the intensity of this satanic masterpiece which deals with the biblical concept of the Apocalypse interpreted through strictly satanic views.

Enthroned rounded off the 20th Century on tour with Marduk and continued to take European crowds by storm this year with several live performances in Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and France.

2000 was a busy year for Enthroned. The band parted ways with Nebiros and recruited Nerath Daemon as new axeman who then succesfully passed his trial by fire on a German mini tour followed by several other European shows and the recording of ARMOURED BESTIAL HELL. in the Real Sound Studio (Germany)

In April 2001, the fourth album, Armoured Bestial Hell was released and the band were shortly afterwards forced to endure another line up change. This time, Namroth Blackthorn was the one to be banished and was worthily replaced by Alsvid from the mighty French black metal band, Seth.

After the release of Armoured Bestial Hell, the band played many live gigs in Europe and, despite the terrorist attacks, flew across the big pond and spent a month in the USA.

Enthroned have now signed to Napalm Records and are preparing to record their next album in May 2002 !
