DIAMOND RIO

The beginnings

It all began in the 1980's with a band called the Grizzly River Boys, working at Opryland amusement park in Nashville, TN.,in which Marty Roe was a member of. Soon the name of the band would be changed to the Tennessee River Boys and other familiar band members would join. Jimmy joined in 1984, Dan in 1985, Brian in 1986, Gene in 1987, and finally Dana in 1989. Each member has a remarkable background in music and have played with some very reputable people. When they came together, however, is when their creative talents became known. They left Opryland and first appeared on TNN's Nashville Now in 1989. They signed with Arista Records and changed their bands name to Diamond Rio. They released their first CD, "Diamond Rio" in 1991, which produced five chart topping hits that sent their careers soaring. The CD eventually went platinum. Their following CD's were "Close to the Edge" in 1992, "Love a Little Stronger" in 1994, and "IV" in 1996.

Most recently

On April 18, 1998 Diamond Rio became the 71st members of the Grand Ole Opry and the first band since 1984 to join the Opry. Now they have their latest CD, "Unbelievable" with songs hitting the charts. They have released You're Gone and the most recent release currently on the radio is the song Unbelievable.
