Sometimes the contact between four eyes makes a united vision of something. And sometimes, that situation happens to be in a boring food-cue somewhere in Sweden. It was the first day in a new school in August 2006. Anna was eating the disgusting food paid by the Swedish government, when an old friend appeared. By her side was a friend of hers. She introduced herself as Lina, and it turned out that they had two things in common; music and an adolescent idea of an acoustic band.

There are some moments and their consequences in your life that you cannot really understand. There was no concrete motive for Lina to ask Anna if she wanted to start a band. She didn’t know anything about the girl in a red cardigan and with a strange laugh. There will probably never be any answers to this question, since we are multifarious human beings. Although, Defiant Age is now the result to their first meeting in the cue. Different circumstances made Lina to change to the same type of education as Anna and she soon joined her music class. The joke suddenly became reality when they heard the different music skills that they possessed. Anna’s voice seemed to fit Lina’s guitar sound and they decided to stay after class and share thoughts and music with each other.

Their relation got deeper when they continued to play together and they formed a united vision of the sound. One day, Anna’s boyfriend Martin took Bus 100 from Gothenburg to visit her. Since he didn’t want to disturb her busy schedule, she took him to the collective where Lina lived. Now there were three different thoughts, and since his perspective contributed to the development of the sound, they decided to accept him as a band member.

Defiant Age now consisted of a boy with an ICA-card, a clumsy girl from the Swedish Woods and a girl with a promising future as soccer professional. Zero time, a hundred ideas and too much experience of miserable love is now what lies ahead. The result is a part of the future’s puzzle and we are still searching for all pieces.
