Deetah

"Deetah" - a version of her childhood nickname Claudita, was born in Chile February 29th in 1976 but now resides in Solna, Stockholm after having left her home country with her parents at the age of six as a refugee, for political reasons. Since that, Sweden has been her dear home for both her, her mom, her big sister and little brother. Daddy is in Nicaragua, working as a music teacher for several years. Her current flatmates are two pranksterish cats, since she finds herself too busy for a boyfriend.

Her full name is Claudia Ogalde and she has been rapping for a lot longer than you'd think, and with some fancy artists too! To name- drop a few; Tupac, Noto-rious B.I.G (their only duet - "Runnin'") and Ophé–˜ie Winter. She used to be a member of the hiphop-collective Goldmine quite a while too, but now she focuses on her solo career.

Her first single from her full album "Deadly Cha Cha" was the mellow tune "Relax", spiced with samples from Dire Straits 80's- tune "Why Worry". Now her second single "El Paraiso Rico" is out - it too containing samples - this time from Madonna's hit "La Isla Bonita". Deetah claims that a great deal of hiphop consists in sampling the best of oldies, but admits that the Madonna sample was more a record company idea - which worked out brilliantly, though - Madonna apparently was thrilled with the results! In the nearest future, she'll probably just focus on promoting her music and herself!
