Coming from the frost of Finland, this young and talenteous band brings its music of inredible beauty. Their music could be classified as gothic, atmospheric progressive rock with dark guitar background, wonderful and majestic electric keyboard melodies and magical female/male vocals.
Decoryah record their first demo in 1992 followed by other minor releases like EP "Ebonies" in 1993 until their first LP "Wisdom Floats" that will reveal the real talent and potential of the band.
Their first album "Wisdom Floats" is simply a masterpiece of such atmospheric music, with changing innovative arrangements and strange melancholic poetry. The group counted four musicians:

On the second album "Fall-Dark Waters" out in 1996, Jonne Valtonen played only as session musician. This second album is better produced and features very beautiful songs. However for me "Wisdom Floats" remains the best one. Anyway "Fall-Dark Waters" shows many advances in expression of talent of Decoryah musicians, shows more musical diversity.
Now a new EP "Breathing the Blue" is out (1997). I enjoyed this release very much. Their style is the same, but the compositions are original and different from the 2 previous albums. Female vocals make a magnificent aura which reminds Wisdom Floats and there is bigger variety of instruments. Short, but really decent release!
For me Decoryah is certainly one of the most talenteous bands of the world, even if they're relatively unknown. That's why I made this site, just a little contribution on the WWW to their art.
