Début De Soirée was formed in 1985 by 2 Frenchmen, Sacha Goeller, former radio boss & William Picard, DJ from Aix-En-Provence. In 1987, they released a single "Mister DJ" under the name Yankee. Their band name came from a sentence in that song. In 1988, "Nuit De Folie" was their biggest Euro-Dance hit, N°1 in France, followed by "La Vie La Nuit" the same year. In 1989, they released their first album Jardins D'Enfants. In 1990, their singles "Chance" & "Jardins D'Enfants" were released & their second album Passagers De La Nuit came out the following year. Début De Soirée came back in 1996 with their third album Faut Pas Exagérer but it was unsuccessful. The duet disbanded in 2004 but William continued under the band's name.
