David Hernandez

Hernandez was one of the semifinalists we saw for the first time during American Idol Season 7's Hollywood week. Born and raised in Glendale, Arizona, David has performed at Urban Network Events, "Arizona Idol" and at a Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade. His "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" during the top 10 boys' week was both vocally convincing and demonstrated a degree of showmanship that he had previously been missing and might be essential in securing his success on the show. David Hernandez Fast Facts: Started singing at age six. While in college, he had a job selling knives door-to-door. In 2007, was a finalist in Arizona Idol (the winner of the competition secures a chance to audition for FOX's American Idol). After failing to take first place, he traveled to San Diego to audition successfully for the seventh season of American Idol. Has performed with the Latin/R&B bands Tribet and Straight up.
