A huge amount of often hysterical fans have for hour after hour queued up all around the nation to get a flash of the star who swept Sweden for its feet.
After his debut album “The Anthem” and the mega hit “Money For Nothing”, Darin really put his name on the map of Sweden, with the album passing gold status in sales and with huge radio support and a sold out tour following up his album success.
With four tours and over 200 concerts during the past 2 years, hardly anyone has escaped his glitzy smile and velvety voice. The moments that were left free during the last year’s tremendous summer tour together with Lena Philipsson and Magnus Uggla, Darin was diligently used to songwriting that resulted in his second self-titled album “Darin”. An album where Darin mostly contributed in the whole process and where six of the songs were his own. With the album’s first single “Step Up”, that went straight to first place on the sales charts behind him, as well as the album passing platinum in sales, he also received one of Sweden’s most important music awards, the Rock Bear for “Best male artist” 2005. He was also ranked No 1 as the most exposed artist in media during that year. So 2005 was in many aspects dedicated to Darin.
Only two years have passed since Darin’s album debut and he continues to amaze us with an impressive progress and development as an artist. There seems to be no limits on how far Darin can take his music and talent. His new album “Break the news” is released on November 22nd with the first single Perfect hitting the airplay and sales charts in October. And with the biggest and most spectacular TV shows leading up to the album release.
“Break the news” has been given an astonishing and beautiful production with every track providing the listener with many different sides of a faceted artist. A part from the up front first single the album contains a perfect mix and balance of beautiful ballads such as the classical and timeless “Everything but the girl”, the breathtaking and stringed based “Homeless” alongside with the cool and modern beats of “Desire”, “Insanity” and “Extra Ordinary Love” to name a few.
As many states, Darin is doubtlessly one of the biggest rising stars among the Swedish music industry and with his third album soon hitting the stores, a continuation of a long and impressive career.

I februari är det två år sedan debutalbumet ” The anthem” släpptes. Med hits som ”Money for nothing” och ”Why does it rain” blev Darin snabbt ett namn att räkna med. Resultatet blev ett guldsäljande album kombinerat med tunga radiospelningar som följdes upp av en utsåld Sverigeturné.
Sommaren 2005 gav sig Darin ut på en omtalad och framgångsrik sommarturné med Magnus Uggla och Lena Phipsson. Under turnén spenderade han all sin lediga tid med att skriva text och musik som några månader senare skulle resultera i den självbetitlade uppföljaren ”Darin”.

Förutom två framgångsrika album under ett och samma år så mottog Darin de prestigefyllda prisen ”Rockbjörnen” för ”Bästa manliga artist” och en Grammis för ”Bästa låt”. Han blev även utsedd till den mest medialt exponerade artisten samma år. Så 2005 var i många avseenden Darins år.
Två år har gått sedan debuten och Darin har kommit att utvecklats till en av Sveriges främsta artister. Med fyra turnéer och över 200 konserter är de få som har missat Darins glimrande leende och fantastiska röst.
Nya albumet ”Break the news” släpps 22 november. Första smakprovet från skivan är singeln “Perfect” som fått stora framgångar på både radio och försäljningslistorna. “Break the news” har en slående snygg och modern produktion där varje enskilt spår visar på ett påkostat och genomarbetat arrangemang. Förutom den slående förstasingeln ”Perfect” hittar man en perfekt balans av vackra ballader - som den klassiska och tidlösa ”Everything but a girl” och den stråkbaserade ”Homeless” till coola och moderna tongångar i ”Desire”, ”Insanity” och ”Extra Ordinary love” för att nämna några.
Och som många hävdar - Darin är utan undantag en av de största och mest lovande artisterna inom den svenska musikindustrin. Med en tredje skiva på väg blir detta också fortsättningen på en redan lång och imponerande karriär.
