Cirith Ungol

Cirith Ungol (the name taken from one of the towers in Tolkien's legendary "Lord Of The Rings") was formed in 1971 (or 1972) in Ventura, California, by the ex-Titanic duo Jerry Fogle and Robert Garven, the ex-roadier Tim Baker and Greg Lindstrom. Some critics has called their debut album "Frost And Fire" the worst heavy metal album of all time but they did certainly improve later on (the sound quality of this album was not very good since it was first only intended as a demo). They did never succeed as well as they perhaps deserved because they have inspired many later bands. They broke up 1992 since they felt that they didn't get the support they wanted.
