Celestial Season

The story of Celestial Season is hard to tell in just a few lines. The band was formed back in 1991 as a doom metal group. Celestial Season roamed the Dutch and European stages for a few years. In 1995 the band decided to give in to their passion for the organic groove and exchanged metal for rock. The four remaining bandmembers kicked off a voyage through the bounderies of rock music, driven by the need to explore the dynamics in rock. In 1997 Celestial Season released orange, an album inspired by the great seventies rock bands. Their music was labeled as stonerrock, a music style that became more popular in the years that would follow. In 1998 Celestial Season had finally found their strongest line-up. A year later they recorded a new album called chrome. The album was highly praised by the (inter)national press. At that point Celestial Season had developed thier own sound, with the groove as an identification badge. The year 1999 would become the band's most succesful year so far with shows at the Lowlands festival, Roadburn festival, Tjech Dynamo festival and an extensive club tour. In Januari Celestial Season played at the prestigious dutch Noorderslag festival and rocked the house with a combination of old and new songs. After the show the band drove straight to the recording studio (The Void in Eindhoven) to work with producer Pieter Kloos (Motorpsycho, 7Zuma7) on the new album. The recordingsessions lasted two months and was the most intense in the history of Celestial Season. The new album was named Lunchbox Dialogues, and the band decided to start their own recordlabel, La Guapa Records. This album is released in June 2000 in the netherlands and belgium and will be released about April 2001 in the rest of the world,

.... and Celestial Season is ready for the rest of the world!

And if that's not enough, in May 2001 there will be a new mini-album (on cd and vinyl) out, on Drunken Maria Records. (And also released world-wide). This record will contain some muddy songs, and you know, after listening to those fine tunes, what rock is about.
