The enigma known as cartel was birthed on a glorious day in august of '03. This day was heralded with the union of two atlanta music scene powerhouses: summer's disregard and andy lee. Andy, who was also the drummer of the band two week notice, brought many wonderful things to the band: connections, charm, and fantastic hit- making abilities. All of this coupled with the indigenous anthem creating prowess of summer's disregard made for a truly incredible combination. and just when things couldn't get any better, the handsome ryan roberts up and joined the band as the bass player - bringing staggering style and energy to the already amazing mixture. With the lineup set, cartel set out to conquer the city and then the country with its infectious brood of rock 'n' roll and hook laden melodies. And this is where we find the band today...swooning the ladies and charming the gentlemen with Will Pugh on vocals, Joseph Pepper and Andy Lee on guitars, Ryan Roberts on bass, and the "uber -drummer" Kevin Sanders topping it off. Cartel is truly the latest and greatest thing to emerge from the atlanta music scene - and they don't take this title lightly. Cartel has done more in 8 months of existence than most unsigned bands would ever dream of. They have seen their fan base expand exponentially with new fans emerging all over the country and the world. They recorded their recently released "The Ransom EP" with Matt Goldman, the grammy nominated producer of Copeland and A Small Victory. The EP was also mastered by Rodney Mills who has worked with such bands as .38 Special, Lynard Skynard, and Journey. This band truly has star power and infinite amounts of potential. With summer tour in the process of booking this band is all but there and you'd better watch your back because before you know it Cartel will have passed you by and you'll be left without souvenirs or any feeling in your ass.
