Cam'Ron from Untertainment/Epic Records, originally named Cameron Giles. Cam'Ron was born in Harlem, New York in 1976. He was a big basketball fan and played for Manhattan Center High School. There he was a Point Guard with his fellow teammate, Mase. The two friends became two Underground HipHop MCs. They were known as Killa Cam & Murder Mase.
Cam'Ron met Notorious B.I.G. when he was making his Life After Death album. Big wanted to see what Cam was made of, so he put on about 12 to 13 beats and said, "Yo, you nice. I wanna sign you!" Big then connected Cam with Lance "Un" Rivera on the new Epic label, Untertainment Records.
Cam'Ron then made two hits "357" and "Pull It" featuring DMX. He was working on his new album Confessions of Fire in late 1997. "... I wasn't used to writing in the studio. But after a while, I got used to the schedule, and I was in there almost every day for about eight months. Once you feel you're making one hot joint after another, your confidence and your output go way up.," Cam'Ron said.
Cam'Ron made his first album Confessions of Fire with Epic/Untertainment Records. This album contains some of Cam's best songs, "Horse & Carriage", "We Got It", "357" and more! The album came out July 21st and is one of the best of the Summer of '98.
