Buckman Page is a not-quite-folk rock/indie band out of Valparaiso, Indiana. Their sound bears resemblance to a rich Decemberists/Dispatch bouquet with overtones of Jack Johnson, a Bob Dylan undercurrent and occasional lighter kazoo notes. It's simultaneously electric and acoustic, and a blend of distinctive voices adds depth and an easy charm.
The band members are, in no particular order, wine connoisseur Marcus Lohrmann (guitar, vocals, harmonica), antique kazoo virtuoso Matt Cefalu (guitar, vocals, kazoo), political deviant Daniel Trubey (bass guitar), and the ever-stoic John Williamson (drums). Each band member also plays some sort of percussion on their recent album, Truth in Millions. And yes, tambourine counts.
Buckman Page has an avid following at Valparaiso University, where their concert attendance is generally limited only by the size of the venue. They play in basements, at coffeehouses, at Battles of the Bands and in any other open space they can locate.
