Black Flag

Black Flag was the King of Punk in the late 70's to the mid 80's, churning out true hardcore punk. After the passage of three short-lived, but very talented singers, Dez Cadenza, Ron Reyes, and Keith Morris, Henry Rollins took over and his first effort was on the 1981 "Damaged" album, which is still acclaimed today as being a classic. He led Black Flag towards a more heavy metal direction with the 1984 album, "My War."

All four vocalists deserve respect for what they brought to the band, each unique in his own way. The band often paterned itself around the lead singer of that moment.

Greg Ginn was the main driving force behind Black Flag, he was the only original member in the band when they broke up in 1986. You can still catch him doing solo and instrumental albums for the SST label. SST is punk.
