Since 1996 Betty's Trash has been pumping out their own unique brand of electronic rock music for the kids! The band was started when group founder King James wanted to combine his favorite musical styles at the time (i.e.: Thrill Kill Kult, Sonic Youth, Lydia Lunch) into one. Over the next few years Betty's Trash were gaining quite a reputation in the NYC area due to their demo tapes circulating around and their crazy live shows! This reputation has given them the opportunity to perform with bands like Jack Off Jill, Mindless Self Indulgence, and the Lunachicks just to name a few!
In 2001 Betty's Trash released the "Itsy Bitsy" EP which was a collection of works recorded over the past two previous years. In the fall of 2001 the band played all over the east coast promoting the album, but by the time 2002 came around the band decided it was time to record their first full length album "More Broken Dishes"!
Recorded during the spring of 2002, "More Broken Dishes" is a slight departure from the band's previous work. Musically it was inspired by some of the musical works of bands like Deadsy, The Faint, Twiztid, Danzig, and Brainiac just to name a few. They also experimented with incorporating acoustic guitar, surf-rock guitar, opera singing, and grand piano into their synth rock music! Unlike their past lyrics which were often interpreted as silly and dirty, "More Broken Dishes" focuses on different aspects of bitterness and how it effects people. Over all the band put no limitations on their work and took chances they were afraid to take before. The result is the brand new musical adventure, "More Broken Dishes"!
Even though Betty's Trash has had more members than Menudo they are now down to the two key members King James and Lady A and that's the way they like it! Although they are sometimes are joined on stage by some of their friends, these two are and always will be Betty's Trash!
