Belphegor emerges as one of the most extreme line ups to ever come out of the death black metal scene. The band members themselves describe their diabolical hellride as "cruel and blasphemic hyperblast aggression", the attributes of hell that hit like the tip of a lance searing the Nazarene's flesh.
Since 1991, these Austrians have established a committed fanbase thanks to three excellent full length releases, "The Last Supper" (1995 on Lethal Records), "Blutsabbath" (1997 on Last Episode Records) and the highly acclaimed "Necrodaemon Terrorsathan" (2000 on Last Episode Records). Belphegor's debut strike "The Last Supper" had not been available for years although it received great demand, and thus the band decided to rerelease it in 1999 under the banner of Last Episode Records. This rerelease contains three bonus tracks plus three original punches from the legendary EP "Obscure and Deep", which was released back in 1994 on Perverted Taste Records.
"Necrodaemon Terrorsathan" featured nine tracks which showed the band on a much higher level than on the predecessors: fast and brutal as fuck alongside with technical perfection, most brutal sound quality and pure blasphemic layout as well. No compromise, typical Belphegor style as ever.
In 2002, the hyperblast war machine known as Belphegor returned with the release of their 10th anniversary CD on the band's own label, Phallelujah Productions, which was entitled "Infernal live orgasm". This raging death black assault includes a full coloured 24page booklet featuring filthy photo collages documenting the band's first decade and it also featured two new studio tracks, the hate spawning highspeed monstrous hymns "Swarm of rats" and "Der Untergang pt. II", eight live recordings of a murderous sound quality and played even faster than on the original studio recordings, as well as two bonus tracks from the legendary demos "Kruzifixion" (1991) and "Bloodbath in paradise" (1992) and two blasphemous video clips.
Today, Belphegor consists of:
Helmuth: heretic grunts, chainsaw Sigurd: 6string armageddon Barth: bulldozer bass distortion Torturer: highspeed artillery
